Artist Statement:
I think of my camera as a tool for seeing the extraordinary in everyday things, and for evoking nature's inner essence. It has taught me to make the most of each moment, and to experience the world with a sense of honor and patience.
Whether I am walking in the midst of a lush green forest, replete with my senses on overload, or wading through a body of water, hoping that the creatures beneath don’t confuse me with their prey, I am at home with nature. I am waiting for the exact moment in which to click my shutter. I relish in the scents of blossoms, pine needles or fallen leaves. The light casting shadows, filtering through the multitude of trees, causes me to stop and marvel. The quietude, cocoons me for which I am ever so grateful. It is often interrupted though by my footsteps or those of the forest critters, or underwater creatures. I am alone, but not lonely. I choose to just ‘be’, cradled in the glory of nature.
This happens in or around Lake Lure, North Carolina or areas around South Florida.
MY CAMERA'S EYE IS ALWAYS WITH ME.
